Weekly Adventure: Post Office

This week the puppies adventured to the US Post Office. The workers that were lucky enough to be in the building when they arrived were immediately shot with the "cute" bullet.

They explored the entire spacious building, stopping breifly for a photo shoot.

They were held by several and played with by several more. Even the anti-pit workers had trouble resisting these wiggle-butts.

Bonnie, as usual, turned on the charm as she doted on each person who showed her attention. Clyde won heart by chasing a tennis ball, chasing after Bonnie, and by being over-the-top adorable.

Before they left, they were asked to come back in a few weeks.

Puppy Pads (End of the week Accuracy Percentage= 50%)

I always had a sneaky suspicion that laying diapers on the floor didn't do much good. Now I can say first hand that this is true. Bonnie and Clyde do use the pads some, but it seems to be a lot of luck. They actually seek out the pads a low percentage of the time, but over all, these pads are a pain in my ever lasting neck. They collect smells, look disgusting, and are slippery for me and the pups. Last week when we started using them, they only worked about 15% (strategic luck). This week, the percentage is growing higher, but I watch the puppies smell the pad then walk off it and poop on the hardwood. So frustrating!!! Check out this image:

My husband turned our entire dinning room into a puppy pad pillow. We moved the table to the side and stacked the chairs to form a wall that they can't crawl under to poop. We sprayed the center of the pad with "Go Here" spray, which also doesn't work. Every morning, I get them out of the crate, walk over to the chair in the corner and greet them. They usually go on the pad. Clyde has actually been responding to this repeated action and hits the pad when he wakes up from any cat-nap thrroughout the day. But if he is awake and doing ANYTHING ELSE (exploring, wrestling, biting), he does NOT go back to the pad. He droppes where he stands. Bonnie also uses the pad in the morning but you are hard pressed to get her to go back during the day.

Now, pooping is a whole different issue. Clyde only cares enough to poop where he is not playing and Bonnie will go to the pad, sniff around, and find the one spot on the hard wood floor not covered with the pad and do her business there. It is ALWAYS under the table in the far corner. Not only is it NOT on the pad, but then we have to get on our hands and kness and crawl, while dodging puddles, to reach her surprize. The other option is to move the table; which also moves all of the pads in the process. Since this image was taken, we moved th chairs and added more pads. I don't know which dog to fuss at the most!!! GRR...

I am pretty sure that by the time the accuracy is high enough to make these pads worth it, they will be trained to go out side!!!
