Bonnie

Clyde

The pups revisited the Post Office again today. Clyde ran in like he owned the place. He trotted around and visited everyone. Bonnie was a little more timid. She, reservedly, walked in but stayed with Bradley most of the time (except when she was a tag along to Clyde).

They both went to the front window, showing the customers how beautiful they were. One customer talked about how well behaved they were. Another customer wanted them to come to the lobby so she could play with them. A co-worker told us that we should put them in dog shows because they were so beautiful.

They hung out for a few minutes, Clyde marked everything outside he came across, and they took a discovery walk of the back parking lot. You could tell they enjoyed themselves, but when it was time to leave, they were excited to ride in the truck. Neither one of them will jump in or out of it yet, but they were excited to walk to it, be lifted in, and stick their heads out the window.

Under my desk is a floor heater. I use it a lot! The pups are a little scared of it. They are unsure about the air pressure that comes from it. But now that the weather is cooler, Bonnie has discovered the value of the heat. I turned the heater to engulf the cubby area around my feet and Bonnie found it. She climbed in, under my desk, and sucked up all my heat for about an hour.

I had been trying to keep a detailed watch on Bonnie so that she didn’t irritate her stitches. Plus, as she heals, her incision would itch! I noticed that she never scratched or licked her incision. This seemed a little too good to be true, but then I watched her hesitantly lift her back paw and scratch the air beside her belly. I don’t know if moving those muscles helped or the mental act soothed her. But either way, she knew not to scratch it.

I bent down and scratched all the safe areas for her, but I was so proud.

Moxie’s dog bowl has a picture of a bone on the bottom, inside. I always wondered if any of the dogs would ever try to get it. Not until now. Bonnie, even though she has seen the bowl many times, decided to try to get the bone! Too funny.

Whenever Moxie and Penny spend the night, they reluctantly get moving at 5am. Bonnie and Clyde are used to it, and Moxie eventually adjusted. But Penny ALWAYS waits until the last minute to come downstairs (usually when I open the back door). But one morning, Penny never came down.

Everyone went outside to do their business, they ate breakfast, but still no Penny. Then I watched in amazement as Bonnie went upstairs and came back a minute later with Penny.

Oh, my heart!!!

Unfortunately, this picture speaks for itself (it used to be an inkpen).

Why Clyde…just why?
